Decide how the two panels divide the opening
Equal panels create formal symmetry. In some projects, one active leaf and one secondary leaf may be more practical. Discuss the intended daily use before finalizing proportions.
Use carving across both doors intentionally
A symmetrical pattern can continue across the meeting line and make the two leaves read as one composition. Alternatively, each panel can have its own complete motif.
Choose hardware early
